The Pasture-Fed Livestock Association promotes the unique quality of produce raised exclusively on pasture, and the wider environmental, human health and animal welfare benefits that pastured livestock systems represent.

Look out for the Pasture for Life logo when shopping for grass-fed meat and dairy products, as this guarantees the animal has been fed 100% on pasture for the whole of its life.

It also means the farmer has followed the rules set out by the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association, and the way he or she farms has been independently checked and certified.

Pasture-fed meat and milk has:

  • Lower total fat levels
  • Higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)
  • Higher vitamin and mineral levels than meat or milk from grain-fed animals
  • Higher levels of Omega-3

Although by no means a complete list of all information on pasture-raised and grass-fed meat and dairy, a summary prepared by the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association gives an idea of the range of different benefits that can be expected when buying Pasture for Life produce.
